I started in graphic design and ended up in production engineering. The path between the two explains how I work.
Early in the pandemic I joined NÓS — Nosso Olhar Solidário, an app connecting people in need to support institutions: +105,272 people e 213 institutions in the first months. That's where I realized the problem was almost never in the interface — it was between the people, the systems and the services nobody had looked at together. Since then that's what I design: the whole service, with the screen as a consequence.
Production engineering is giving me another lens for that — seeing the operation as a system and turning it into a basis for strategic decisions. Design taught me to ask for whom; engineering, at what cost and in what order.
Today I'm a Product & Service Designer at Optave (Canada), working on customer experience with AI. The only designer on the team, reporting directly to the CEO — which means deciding scope and strategy as much as designing screens. Outside of work I draw: sketching, digital illustration and watercolor.
